Default B&M deep tranny pan installed...

My tranny would bounce the limiter several times before shifting. Ofcourse I thought it was slipping at first. Then I was told that a deep tranny pan may fix the problem. Well, I got one on there and the tranny shifts when it should. The force holding the fluid towards the back didn't allow enough pressure to shift the car. Man, I am glad I spend 140 bucks instead of several hundred on a tranny rebuild. Just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else had the issue recently. I had heard this was a problem with higher horsepower cars but I'm a measly minor bolt on car.

wow, just solved an issue i used to have! what kind of deep pan did you go with? if you got it online, whats the site? i've had several tranny issues in the past....even went through 2 4L60E's....thanks to warranty the trannies only cost me $200 each .......i am a measly bolt on car as well....and i have had issues with cracking the tailshaft extension housing......one time i was going about 130 mph racing another Z28....and the time before that was on the dyno.....have any ideas on how to prevent the ext. housing from cracking? i was told that by installing a spohn torque arm with the driveshaft safety loop, that it would pull the stress off the ext. housing....

That is right. The redesigned Spohn Torque arm relocates the front mount to the a cross member (that attatches to the frame in place of the wimpy sheet metal piece that comes installed from the factory) and not the back of the trans, thereby taking the stress off the trans and the trans mount. The droveshaft loop is part of the crossmember.

You can do the shift kit first if you want. It will help slightly. But the verter is the biggest help.

True.

The converter will cause your shifts to soften up allot. The shift kit will make them hard and fast.
