Questions on A4 for street race, Please....
My friend has camaro SS 99 A4, and when he bought H/C package he wants that he strengthens the Transmission, the car for street race also he have T/A cover with 3.43 ratio. How we can choose the converter for street?? What about the rest of the stuffs?? like TransGo, Cooler, SHIFT IMPROVER, Deep Transmission Pan, Flexplate, Converter, ....etc. Do i need the Flexplate??
I hope that I get on the answers.
Thanks

The right stall is going to depend on the h/c setup. I would say no smaller than 3500. Get a cooler (the bigger the better) at a minimum, deep pan is nice but not necessary. As far as strengthening the trans, you pretty much need to upgrad the internals. I don't think a trans go shift kit is going to help you any in that department, it will just make it shift faster/harder. You should not need to replace the flexplate.

The "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift can help a lot with transmission life. The Trans-Go vacuum modulator can help alot with the 3-4 clutch life, and improve response in downshifting.

Well, obvously it's gonna cost some coin if you send/or buy a tranny from the states, so you should talk to guys like Pro Built or team tripp and get a list of parts to buy for the tranny and see if someone over there is fimilar with those parts and building a 4L60E. If he is not willing to go that route a Trans go performance shift kit and trans cooler will help some. For a stall if he has the money I'd look into Yanks SS series...with a H/C car i'd go with a Yank SS3800. Good luck!!

being that the car has 3.42 gears I would do a 3500-4000 stall, yes a big trans cooler, and I also recommend installing a trans temp gauge...one of the killers is getting the tranny too HOT.
Have the car custom tuned on the street, not just on a dyno after the converter and everything else is installed.
