Hi,
Im wondering does the shifter linkage in the tranny have the traditional swing arm style, that a normal shifter linkage hooks up to?? Mine ust has a screw sticking out of it and that doent look right.
also how do I get a dipstick hooked up for it?
thanks again

You can get a dipstick from summit racing. They are braided steel ones from lokar. My is 36" I believe, but it is a little shorter then I would like. I think you can order them longer then that, but just call and ask for a lokar 4l80e. I guess I am not quite sure about your shifting question. On mine there is a short rectangular arm with a bolt that screws into it. The shifter linkage will go on that and is held in place by the bolt.

On mine all there is is a bolt sticking out, I dont see how a shifter linkage will hook on to that.
Usually there is a halfmoon shaped peice of metal with holes in it to connect the shifter to.
however does the tranny really need the manual shifter?

That shaft that your bolt is attached to has one or 2 flat spots on it to allow a plate to slip over it and lock when you add the bolt.
Lokar makes a cable shifter kit that works with the 4L80E and most floor shifters.
I also used the Lokar dipstick and it is good quality and does not leak.
