Default tranny cooler. Yes or No?

just had my tranny rebuilt $$$ had the shift points tinkered with and also put a 3500 stall in it. i told the guy to put a tranny cooler on it but he forgot is it worth taking it back down there and having one installed or what?

If you don't get one installed, you might as well start looking for a new transmission. I wouldn't drive it around anywhere if I were you.

So your saying that after 5 years of drag strips and daily driving, It would be a good idea to get a tranny cooler?

Yes, a tranny cooler should be added into the package and price when purchasing a stall. Otherwise people just end up bitching: "My tranny just blew up! What's wrong?!"

You could probably install it yourself, it's pretty easy. Beats risking damaging the tranny by driving it more.

I'm surprised it hasn't overheated yet. Way back when people started putting converters in LS1s, they quickly found out that the pcm would do some interesting things without a trans cooler. Oh yeah...puking all the fluid out the vent tube is fun too.
