Default suggestions for mildly modded daily driver TC

suggestions for mildly modded daily driver (3.23 gears) TC.

ridden in a 4K shalled car thought it was a dog untill high RPM
so I'm thinking much smaller & tighter.

? what is a peanut converter I'm thinking it has a small diameter.

?what is the starting price for a decent preformance TC. Fuddle seams kindof low priced.

When I choose a manufactor will they ask for only 1 setting (shall speed) or is there another spec. ?

Thanks from A4 newbie

str stall torque ratio is the other biggie besides stall speed basically higher str means lower top end efficency but more torque multpulication off the line

Str Is Not Standard At All Some Companies Dont Really Let You Pick Unless You Buy A Cutsome Converter But Other Companies Will Let You Desginate Your Str Of Your Verter.. Perosnally A 2.5 Str And 3500 Stall On My H\c T\a Is Too Much Even With 315-35 17 Nittos Ran At 15 Psi ...... Your Stock Verter Has A 1.7 Str I Think.. I Woulsd Base Your Str Selection On The Tire You Plan On Running While I Would Base Your Stall Speed On Your Desired Shift Extension ... Going On That Premise A Bolton T\a Running A Streetable Tire Is Not Gonna Need More Than 4000 Stall And Cant Even Use A 2.5 Str The Ideal Setup For A Street Tire Bolton Car I Would Say Is Gonna Be 3500 Stall 2.2 Str.. By Buddy Just Dropped One (yank Ss3600 2.2str) Is His Stock 00 Firehawk And He Agrees That It Is Dead On The Right Selection For The Car

Hope This Helps

O Yea If You Wanna Understand Str More Just Do A Search On Stall Torque Ratio But Its Very Important When Picking A Converter

The reason why my car was "a dog" driving around was because it was at PART THROTTLE. That's the purpose of a stall. It's something you get used to. A 3500 isn't going to be that different driving around town than my car. Gears and a shift kit go a long way towards taming a big stall.

My car is a dog though, 12.0's consistent and one 11 second run on a stock internal motor is slow.

I'd suggest the TCI 3500 or Yank 3600. Anything less and you're just wasting your time.

Hm not sure what you guys are talking about with your cars being "a dog" at part throttle, if anything it feels like my car has more power all the time now and it was a dog with the stock converter.

And Jpr, damn it's hard to read your posts when you capitalize every word

I was being sarcastic. It's my car that Steve is talking about. It may FEEL like it's slower, but the speedo says differently. Damn sure goes when you go WOT though.

I can sure feel my power under the curve.

Mainly it feels better because it slips past your weak low-RPMs so you are driving around where your engine starts to make power, and not below it, which is why it feels so sluggish driving around stock.

Fuddle recommended 3400/2.1 for my DD bolt-on car. I'll see how it feels when I install it.

Default fuddle

same here fuddles recommendation (3400) for current setup/ future planes for a procharger.

I raised my rev limit to 6399 then raised each shift point by 200RPM

my trans is set at idel 90PSI

you guy's think I'll need more tuning / a 3500 STR 2.0?

Thanks
