Im trying to get one of these on my 2001 ls1 M6. How do they work as apposed to the 4l60e, do I have to manually shift the transmission like im driving stick or does it do it for you like the electric???? I have always wonder? How high does it typically rev???? at about 80mph

the gear ratio is more favorable than the 4l60e and the overdrive allows less rpm at a given road speed verses the 4l60e.check out the post on my 200 page manual.itll go right yur car and will auto shift.you need to install a tv cable between the throttle and trans to give the trans a throttle position signal as an input to control shift scheduling.

Be sure you get one with a bolt pattern that will
work, some cases had a universal and some were
BOP-only (Buick, Olds, Pontiac). This trans has
had a lot more years in the aftermarket and the
GN performance segment in particular drove some
pretty decent beef-up. A really popular trans for
retrofit to older TH350 vehicles, minimum "stuff"
involved and no pesky electronics.

Both have OD and very close when it comes to gear ratio. The 4L60E has a lower 1st gear and 2nd gear.
Stock to stock not sure if anyone is stronger. I would say get the 4L60E and tune the PCM for it.
200- 4R 2.74 1.57 1 0.67
4L60E 3.06 1.63 1 0.7
