Default th400 fittings

I tried to put my 1/4npt fittings for the lines in the tranny and they only go in a thread or two then get tight. Is this normal? Even when I tightened them I maybe got three threads. thanks

I know NPT fittings are supposed get tighter as you screw it in because they are tapered, yours sounds like it might be to tight though. Do a google search on what size hole for 1/4" NPT, I think it's 7/16" or .4735", and then make sure your tranny hole is the correct size. If you try to tighten it to much, you could crack your tranny case then your SOL, so be careful. Mine came from Rossler with 1/2 NPT to -6 AN FYI.

You deffinatly have the wrong threads if your getting 2 turns and 3 when tight. Make sure you get the correct one and maybe look for a tap now since you may have fubbared up the threads already. Be careful as the other guy said you dont want to crack the case.

I got the madman cooler kit and noticed that my aero equip fittings only go in about two threads or so as well into the pipe fittings that have already been put in by transking in my th400. What would you guys suggest, does aero have different thread pitches or should I just pull out the pipe fittings that transking installed and go get some that will except the aero fittings? Thanks

On a side note, to those who got a madman cooler kit. did you guys get hose ends for the braided line with your kit, I recieved none. Thanks.

On the tranny, there should be some fittings , and then the case itself. You need 1/4" npt on the case itself, remove the other fittings that are in there.
