Stalled A4 owners...
Okay, have any of you noticed oil consumption AFTER adding a stall.
I have piston slap like it' s my car' s job. Before the stall, with only about 20K miles on the car, she wouldn' t use a drop of oil. She' s always slapped, since I got it just over 4K miles. So, I added a stall, and now, depending on weight, she uses 1-2 quarts every 3K mile oil change. Have any of you noticed or experienced this too.
I understand oil consumption, in earlier LS1s were due to the flutter in the ring pack, under low-load, high RPM driving. Well, obviously with a 3800 stall, she' ll slip a good bit more than the OEM TC, so I wonder if that has caused my current problem.
Thanks,
Chuck

Hmm. Okay. That is why I wanted to know. It' s kinda' weird. I had NO problems for the stall, but after it, is when it started. Almost immediately.
If anyone else has input, I' d appreciate it.
Thanks,
Chuck

It could be that your car used very little oil before the stall. Now that the stall is in there and you are running at higher rpm's most of the time, it has accelerated the oil use. Just a guess though. I have a 98 heads/cam with a 3500 stall and to this day it has never used a drop of oil with 66k on the clock.

A stall shouldn't make a difference in oil consumption... maybe just a coincidence or like you said, you're usually at higher rpm's so it could affect the oil somewhat i guess. I added a 4200 stall and my engine doesn't lose a single drop of oil.
