who has over 400rwhp on stock trans?
I just dropped my car off and was talking about getting anew trans.I know most people once they add heads the trans start to go,however I see alot of heads and cam people or stock with 100 shot still with the stock trans. So if you have more than a cam(cam and heads) or a 100 shot or 75 shot with boltons and you have an untouched(never rebuit trans) I want to hear from you.I want to know your mods and what you put down to the wheels.
It's possible, but unlikely to have 400+rwhp on the stock 4L60E and not kill it. There are a few factors like driving habits, traction, torque converter, and maintenance. Even if some people tell you they had no problems don't count on YOUR tranny lasting.
I'm not trying to be a **** I just don't want you to think you can spend your $2,000 savings or whatever on H/C, then blow your tranny the next month and have no money for a fix.

Its only a matter of time before mine goes. 36,000 miles on car, and I say sooner than later...matter of fact i give it one month or less (knock on wood). Its a full bolt on car, 3600 stall/cooler/transgo, suspension and drag radials and a 200 Shot coming this weekend
I already plan on building a th350 real soon
but am going miss the overdrive

406 rwhp and 475rwtq mickey dr's 3800 vig. and about 15 track runs on it cutting 170 60' and it pulled the driver side wheel a few times with the sway bar still hooked and the stock front tires so its pulling hard. still going strong though, knock on wood. planning on the rosler 4l60e with the rosbrake when mine gives up though since they are only a half hour away.
So with all these replys would it be safe assume that the trans can hold 395-400 rwhp for alittle while? I know opinions will vary and Im not gonna take it all to heart, but lets hear what everyone has to say.Heres the deal Im getting a cam put in fri-sat(TR224/112lsa).I dont know what it will dyno(it has Lthedders,lid,loudmouth,3500stall,tranny cooler, tci deep trans pan).Lets say it does 350 then Ill add a 50 shot or if does 360 a 35 shot. That will put me in the 400 mark if on the juice.I dont think Ill use it much just a few times on the street from a roo or just to test it I figure Ill have the money after X-mas to buy a fuuly built tranny, then I will up the shot, but until then around 35-50 depending what Idyno with the cam. What do you think?
