My stage 3 trans lost 2nd
7k miles on the trans, about 20 track passes (never more than 2 in a row), trans cooler, deep pan, fluid changed frequently, etc. Not many at all WOT downshifts and last night I lose 2nd gear. This is a stage 3 Max Evil trans (speed inc used to carry them).
While driving at around 25-30 mph I went WOT and the car downshifted to first and then started revving instead of going into second. I knew immediately something was wrong. Came to a stop, took off slowly and it'll go all the way up to 3k before it shifts softly into third. Used to go to second and shift very firm. Otherwise drives fine and goes into OD. Had to drive about 4 miles to get back home and tried to make sure I avoided stopping as to keep it in OD all the way home.
I did a search and it looks like the billet servo could be making the 2nd gear band break. I plan on removing the trans and taking it to FLT.
Any other thoughts or ideas? This trans cost me $2k plus a deep pan for $130. It was babied compared to the stocker and now this

It sucks that with my power level the stock trans actually held for almost 30k miles with my mods and this one didn't. I also beat on the stocker and babied this one

You probably wore out the 2-4 band. I'm guessing that the only reason that the 4th gear applied was because you were feathering the throttle so there was very little torque demand on the band.
If I were you, I would drain the fluid and look at the bottom of the pan. If it's covered in a bunch of clutch material, you know that you have smoked the band.
