Default A4 Problem

Ok racing some f-in GT an there goes my Tranny mount. 2000 Z28 A4, so i spent half the day trying to get the correct mount then an hour replacing it. Drive down the street an the trans start slipping. 1st shifts at a high RPM, an it will not shift out of second. Pulled diagnostics on it and it threw the codes for o2 Sensor, Both left and right bank, thats fixed. Threw a code also that read Shift Solenoid "A" stuck off....? Need new tranny????????

Do you have a stall tc that you have put in recently? If you shut your car off and refire it how does the trans work? Or do you still have only 1st and 2nd? Also you might want to edit the f-in word!

Are you sure that you only have first and second? It sounds more like you trans is stuck in limp mode do to the solenoid code. This would be more like starting out in third gear. The solenoids that this code is referring to are located in the rear of the valve body and look the same. They can be replaced pretty easy. I do sell them if you want to try this first. Here is a pic of the solenoids.

I would try the solenoid first as vince says ,That code sets when the solenoid is commanded on but the ecm does not se the apropriate feedback from the manifold presure switch even though the solenoid is electrically sound, There are a few other things that can cause the code they include a stuck valve and a bad manifold presure switch.
But the solinoid would be the most likley first step , While your in there take a close look at whats in the pan also.

i start out in overdrive i get what i assume to be first but i cant put any power on it or it will just slip and can kinda work my way up an it will finally shift at 3500ish then when its in "second" it wont ever shift and around 3000rpm (45mph) it starts to vibrate on the center console alot......

I would try the solenoid on the left of the picture. This solenoid is for the 2-3 shift valve and is the solenoid that is on in second gear. It must shut off to make a 2-3 shift. Vince

The code was - shift solenoid "a" stuck off. Is it the one to the left in the pic above?

The solenoid on the right of this picture is the A solenoid. However the A solenoid is for the 1-2 shift and not the 2-3 shift. I would replace both solenoids in most cases but this has me puzzeled unless the trans is already hurt. Let us know what you find.

Yes don't leave us hanging after solenoid , Hopefully that will fix it , If not other possibilities do exist for that code I mentioned before.
