$$$$ Converter install
So, how much is the average running price for a shop to install a new torque converter?
I suppose they have to pull the Transmission? And can't just slide it back on two long bolts like the older cars?

I dont honestly see why you would pay to have it done... its not a bad job IMO... time consuming?? yes, but it can be done with simple hand tools and a jack and ramps in a driveway if need be. a lift makes it nice....
If you are dead set on having it done, you shouldnt pay any more than $300 IMO... I'd do it for $200 if I were closer LOL...

Yea, I've pulled my share of Tranny's and in some cases you don't even have to drop the tranny to do a converter swap... I haven't done one on a LS1 car and I'm guess there isn't much room to do that trick?
I was thinking a 3000 -3200 stall would be best. The car is stock, no catback, no tuning nothing... Thought about just going with a gear swap going from the 3:23 up to a 3:73? Not sure if that's the best move?
