Default Trans Stuck on Engine!!

My trans is stuck on the damn alignment pins. Got 8 bellhousing bolts out, converter is unbolted and spins freely, got the crossmember off and I've literally been kicking this thing back and forth and beating it with a big *** hammer. I can't get any gap at all to even pry on. It's soaking in PB blaster now, but anybody got any tricks or ideas on getting this apart? This is ridiculous.

get some PB blaster spray the dowel pins from the back as good as u can and take a mice big pry bar and work the trans a lil it will come out just takes some time. Ive had a few stubber ones like this

Try to get a really thin pry bar of some sort and get a hammer to lodge it in between the engine and bell housing...That's what I had to do to my T56 because that thing was almost welded on...Keep trying

Problem is the only place I can get so much as a screwdriver in is between the trans and oil pan, doesn't seem like a good place to pry.

Keep working with it and the PB blaster . I have heated the dow pins but dont suggest it unless you clean off the PB blaster and have a oil free area and a good fire ext. But be carefull with the pry bars the bellhousing isnt that tough and will break. I have see a few .

just keep working at it with some pb blaster and pry bar. took me 2 hours to get mine apart. pissed me off

If you have a come-along or ratchet strap try hooking one end on the tail shaft housing and one on the rear end. Then work the strap while using the other methods. This was the only way I could get mine off. I broke a couple large flat blades trying to pry and PB blaster didn't do ****.

My dowel pins eventually pulled out of the engine.

Are you trying to pull it off with the full weight of the tranny pulling down on the pins or do you have a jack under it and have it tucked back up. Mine cracked loose once I took some tension off it.

I feel ya
Keep 2 bolts lose then have some one with a strong leg push the tale section with a another person with a long peace of wood and a hammer hitting it from the same direction.
If you pull it down you may hurt the back of the intake and the sensors.

Mine done the same thing, it sucked bad!

If you have some help, then get 1 person on each side of the trans and rock back and forth.lol thats what we did. It will eventually come loose enough to get a flat head screwdriver in between the housing, but be careful and take your time.

I see you're in Vista! I'm in Vista as well!

Anyways, I've been doing just that for an hour now without any luck. I can get one side off, but I can't get the other side to budge. I've got beer if you have an awesome pry-bar!

But, does anyone have any other ideas?

It looks letting the penetrating lube sit over night did the trick.
