personnaly i would have used the Alto red eagle 2 5/8 wide band but the kevlar band is good too....make sure to put the spring on top of the 1-2 accum...you can also take out the #7 checkball and capsule and replace it with a cup plug which will yake the lag out of 3rd gear

oh and please tell me you are not using the stock pressure regulator spring...someother recomendations
sonnax .490 boost valve and cross drill it..
pinless accum piston for the 1-2 not needed in 3-4 too much but good idea and i would put one in the forward accum also the better the seal the better the feel .....lol
i also would not have removed the pressure manifold from the VB unless it was bad those damn diaphrams always fall out....

Vince: Thanks!
I'm having so much fun with this every little thing came apart and everything is comming together now
Only one thing I'm not sure of now is.. wether I will need to reprogram the computer for this transmission with a Yank3000 converter or not

You do not have to reprogram the computer for the Yank. I ran my Vig3200 with stock programming with no problem. However, you may optimize the performance of the newly built transmission and converter by computer programing. (lock-up, TM, shift points, line pressure, etc.)

Thanks Casper! I was thinking about buying a odb2 cable and software, what do you recommend? HPtuners? EFILive? something else? Is it possible to get something that will do the job well for price range of about ~$500?

I don't do my own tuning, so I cannot comment on a software. However, here is a comparison of EFI Live and HPT.

You will find supporters of both, and I doubt you can go wrong with either. Good luck!

Just looking at your reverse input drum. It appears that it has seen some pretty good heat marks from a band failure. I can see this from the blue marks on the inside of it along with the outside. You should check to make sure that it is nice and flat. If it is dished it can cause premature band failures. Check this by using a straight edge across it.

Thanks Casper and Vince,
I will take a better look at the reverse input drum, you are right about the heat problem.. The clutches and the steels were in pretty bad shape to, but the band surface looked okay.. but I will have a second look before I finish
