RPM Stage V 4L60E ?
I know RPM its an outstanding company that makes killer transmissions and im curious to know how the Stage V behaves on the street.
I am mainly looking to see if this tranny can be used on a Daily Driver that takes 1000 mile trips.
Thanks

First off let me say that Rodney and the boys at RPM are good friends of ours at FLT. With that being said this would be a good question to ask them about their level 5 transmission. We set up our level 4 & 5 units to shift the same. The difference with ours is that the level 5 has stronger parts in it. I am not sure about their unit so it would be best for you to contact them. They do good work over there and if you choose to buy a trans from them they will do you right. Of course we would do the same but that decision is yours. Good luck Vince.

i had an RPM stg4 in my s/c C5 vette.
475h/465tq DD. (full tq at 27-2800rpm)
not one single issue, performed flawlessly.
10.6's and 1.5short times(Yank2800)
bested a 1.32short with Vig3200.
never missed a beat.
(i miss the car at times. dipstick mistake of the decade selling it..sigh)

Yeah I hear ya, to this day one of my biggest regrets in life was to sell a beloved Mid 70's Anniversary Les Paul Custom guitar back in the mid 90's.
I made myself forget it for a long time, but then decided to use that lesson to remember to never make that kind of mistake again.

I've got an RPM stage 5 in my car. Mods in sig. I haven't had any issues out of it. The car isn't my daily driver, but I have taken it on several long trips ~500miles and driven it to and from work in bumper to bumper Atlanta traffic. The car never winced. It feels about like stock, of course with firmer shifts.
From my understanding, the only difference between the stage 4 and 5 are some beefier internal parts. Check out their website for more info.

I mean, I dont think I will past 500 wheel HP but extra security of having a stage 5 and knowing you could spray and will not break might be worth it.

Is a manual valve body available for the late model 4l60e? I have a 6 spd harness, and Im looking into my options....
Doesnt Ligenfelter or one fo the tuners use RPMs in thh turbo vettes....?

There is a manual VB kit available from trans-go. It is the hd-3 kit. You will be running a vacuum modulator with this kit and unplugging the rest of the solenoids. If you are not going to run a computer on this trans you might want to hook up a manual lockup switch. Most guy's get their computer reflashed with the automatic program instead. I know Rodney does the conversions for you guy's if you are looking to do it. I'm sure that there are others that will take on a project like this as well. Good luck.

I think my harness is from a 6spd, can I hook it up somehow? Im doing a conversion, and bought the harnss modded from a stick car.... what would my best option be? I havent ruled out a 4l80 with a MVB, but not sure I can afford that and a good converter

Launching!
My RPM level V transmission failed after only 363 days and only 6k miles. My Corvette is on street tires and the DIC average MPG is 21.... They said warranty is only 90 days.

i had problems with my level 6 and was told its like basically like $700 to ship there and back n to have them look at it.. and then i hadda pay for parts if broken..well all that was wrong was a wrong filter in it from when i changed pans..so they put the correct one in, and said it was ok..and all i hadda pay was shipping...no labor or to look at it..so they might be firm on the phone but theyll take care of you.. and remember theyre a business they need to make $$ to..i hope they help you out
