Too bad your not out west I'd do it for you for 500-600 bucks. Parts if you go used and cheap you maybe able to get for 1200 or so.

Unless you can find someone who knows what they are doing on these cars I wouldn't trust anyone to do it. If you absolutely can't do it yourself, I'd start looking for another car or just get the auto rebuilt and put a Yank converter in.

you can get whole kits from guys on here for around 1400+ If you get from a junkyard it'll be around 2000+ or if you buy it all new it will run 4000+

labor depends on who does it, most shops won't want to do the conversion so they will charge an ungodly amount, find someone local that you can work with to see it all being done right and offer him a couple hundred bucks.

It's a very time consuming swap. If you have a shop do it, you're going to pay a ton of money at the hourly rates most places charge for labor. I'd guess you'd be looking at around a grand for labor.

When I swapped my th400 for the t-56, the actual "install time" was about 9 hrs total.
That was including drilling the hole for the clutch master cyl, cutting a hole in the floor for the shifter, mounting the pedals and all. I worked on it for 3 days after work for about 3 hours a day. Its not hard at all, its just time consuming. If you have ANY automotive knowledge you can do it yourself.
