Default remove hard line fittings from tranny instead of clips?

I am in the middle of my converter install and I can not get the "e" clips out to get the cooler lines out of the tranny. Can I Just remove the fittings that scew into the tranny instead of removing the clips? It looks like it is easier and I cant for the life of me get those stupid clips out. Will this mess something up?

It would be better if you got the clips out you may damage the little orings in the fittings that way ,

If you can't get the clips out then maybe you won't be able to change the o-rings.
No offense but, well you can't get the clips out? Come on. Try a bit harder, and they do come out without being destroyed.

You have to remove the clips sooner or later because the line needs to come out to get at the o ring.

Yes once the tranny is on the ground I will be able to get the clips out. They just wont come out with me laying on my back under the car and the tranny in. The main reason is that there is just no room to work up there for a normal person let alone a 6'4" 250 lb person with gigantic hands like myself. I am not saying its not doable because I am sure it is I was merely asking if removing the fittings would be any easier. Thanks to the people that are actually trying to help.

get someone with small hands to pull them out with a PICK ! or attach a pick to a heavy duty coat hanger ! let the tranny hang with the crossmember unbolted for more room.

You can loosen the fittings to remove the lines without a problem. I've done it like that a couple times with no problems.

Yes. You're supposed to replace them anytime they are removed.

I've Removed The Fittings Many Times Just Make Sure You Replace The O Ring And Put Teflon Tape On The Fitting So It Won't Leak
