3600 is the most common stall in an LS1 and would work well with a stock car. With good tires and I cant stress that enough you could see about a half of a second drop in your ET.

Definatley one of the first mods you should do. If its a daily driver, make sure to get a lock-up converter to help out with gas mi. Also, your gonna need a tranny cooler. B&M sells a good external mount cooler for about 75$. Tranny temps really increase with the addition of the stall. Will prolong the life of your tranny..

A stall is great, but you also need to also have the right tires to hook up. I use a 3200 stall for my DD and It has great street manners.

I have a 4000 stall with 373 gears, 2500rpm easily keeps up with traffic.

I highly recommend a stall for a LS1 car. It will dramatically increase performance with very little downside.

A properly built 3200 stall converter will still maintain great street manors. The 3200 means flash, meaning when you are WOT the RPM's will jump up to 3200 and the car will start to accelerate. Under light throttle, daily driving, it will drive almost like stock. If you take your foot off the brake while in gear, it will still move. It will take a little more throttle to get it moving, but nothing like you are thinking. The car will start moving with just a little gas. It is one of the best mods for the car dollar wise and guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. But as previously suggested, get some sticky tires.

Here's an in car video with a 3600 stall.

My personal recommendation is a Vigilante converter. Lots will recommend Yank as well. I will also say that the Circle D converters definitely look promising, I just don't have enough experience with or around them to say much.

I used to run a Vig 3200 with a TR224 cam, and think it's a great combination for street/strip.

they are not recommended usually. i honestly wouldn't even look at anything that wasn't a yank, vig., or a circle d. just my opinion though. there is a reason why tci's cost less.
