I guess you mean P1870? Take the pan off and the TCC solenoid is held in with two bolts with 10mm hex head. It's up by the front pan rail on the passenger side. Take the 3-2 solenoid out to access it, thats held in with a clip, use a small screwdriver thru the slot to get that out.
Got no pics, take your pan off and get a pic, I'll circle the parts.
Not saying of this is going to fix the problem, the P1870 code has many causes.

What kind converter is it?
But all you have to do to remove the tcc selenoid, is remove the pan, take out the metal clip, disconect the connector and pull out the selenoid the replace.

The TCC solenoid is held in with two bolts. You just described how to remove the 3-2 kickdown solenoid which you need to remove to access the TCC solenoid. I think I said that already didn't I?

ohhh yea the stall is a 2800 vigilante
It was a 3500 but i destroyed the fins in it when i blew out my tranny a couple times ago lol
I sent it to them and they completely redid it while tightening it up at the same time

The solenoid that is bolted in is the TCC solenoid , the one that you have to remove to take it out is the TCC/PWM solenoid !!! If the transmission was rebuilt without either modifying the lock up application or boring and sleeving the PWM valve , you may have a valve body problem !!
