Default Fluid Capacity

Does anyone know the fluid capacity of the windshield washer reservoir/bucket on a Generation I CTS-V?

Thanks!

My guestimate is ~1.25 gallons. It'll take a gallon no problem when it alerts you it is low.

It has a low level warning? I'll be damned, guess I've never gotten that low. I agree that it's capacity is definitely over a gallon.

Apparently my low level alarm doesn't work. I ran out just the other day. It held nearly 1.75 gallons.

Well, I jinxed myself. 8hr after this post I hit someone on the way home from work (first at-fault accident in 15 years ), in the process breaking the washer fluid reservoir. Hey, look, it does have a low level warning!

That's a drag but....Is this an opportunity for a fresh grill set, front bumper repaint and some shiny new headlights?

Yeah, I'm fine, and the car is still drivable, just the front right corner is banged up (hood, fender, bumper, headlight, washer fluid reservoir , fog/DRL, etc). The entire front end definitely was in need of a repaint - the bumper, leading edge of the hood, and leading edges of the fenders are all quite sandblasted by lots of track days, so it'll be nice to get a fresh front end. (But then I'll want to cover the entire nose of the car with painter's tape at the track...) The headlights have the typical weathered/crazed plastic thing going on, and now the passenger side one has a lens made of packing tape, so new ones of those will be nice.

Dang! Didn't see this. Sorry 'bout your car, Pat.

In the over ten years I've had my car, I don't believe I've ever put any fluid in the reservoir. Suppose I better check it out when I wake it up in another six weeks.

Sorry to hear it. Cover shipping, and I'll send you a passenger headlight in better condition than packing tape. I bought a spare set, never used them, too lazy to sell them.
