Now my shifter boot looks stupid, I'll either zip tie it lower like others have or put the stock v2 **** back on. Shifts great though. The hardest part of the install was getting the stock shift **** off.

Update - I took the time to put the boot on correctly today.

I agree. It was getting late when I took the first pic and couldn't get the stupid grommet in. I took it inside and let them warm up, much easier to do then. I was going to run the V2 ****, but I tore it up getting it off. I don't mind this look for now.

Can it be made to look close to the OEM ****? I'm not fond of the Hurst look, but I've got to get a decent shifter in the car.

Absolutely. I can send you a modified upper stalk to accept the stock **** and the entire shifter will be hidden by the stock boot. I'll just need you to send back your stock shifter after you swap it out to replace the one out of my stock that I'll need to sacrifice for the modification.

Default Awesome!

Just installed this tonight. I ordered it with the white ball.

Shifts are nice and tight. The kit removed all the front to back play and about 2/3rds of the side to side. Went from about 1.5 inches of slop side to side to around .5 inches. Much nicer. Great instructions. Need another wrist for the install. I have an x pipe that's just behind the shifter.

I ordered the solid stainless 1 7/8 in ball for 9.99 plus a delrin easy grip ball 4.99 from mcmaster carr. So far I like the solid ball with the added weight. And the grip on the cheapest ball is nice. I may try a little longer stick later as well.

Very nice highly recommended.

Installed in an 05 v 99k miles. I think I had a different aftermarket shifter. Either way it was crap. This feels solid!

Got this installed tonight...What a difference. Almost zero play when before was easily 1.5" or more. Worth every penny so far.

Only thing is I feel like I'm going to miss 3rd gear if I slam it....However no grinding yet Maybe I just need to get used to not throwing across a canyon. Thanks Brian!

Apparently my car came with the UUC short throw but im not very impressed. Its like a rifle type slide into gear. Still contemplating switching.

Mine also came with a uuc shifter. I like this one much better.

I had to cut the shifterknob off to get the uuc off.

It's definitely tighter then the uuc. I also picked up an 8" "indy" (hurst) stick off ebay. The shifter is back to the same height the uuc was (stock) and the throw is still shorter then the uuc maybe .5 to an inch in any direction.

I am using a mcarster carr solid steel ball (I love the weight) I plastidip d the ball white and glossified it. The extra grip is nice and it seems to keep it from cooking in the sun. I use the same style ball in a miata and my kit car with no top. I plastidiped those now too.

The uuc had likely been installed early in my cars life.(now 99k) I think the play it had was from the white cup bushing in the shifter. It would likely work great with a new cup bushing.

Does anyone make a replacement bushing for the white cup in the stock shifter, the one re used in the uuc, snaps into place 2 part thing?
