Carb'd LS1 for my 71 Camaro
Current pics of my LS1 build. Working on the plumbing for the head steam ports and water pump to heater core. Also got the front accessory drive kit installed and turned pretty nice. Need to figure out the hydraulic clutch setup with the tremec 5 speed and spec 3+ clutch next.

Made a little progress on the motor today. Recieved the holley 850dp and MSD digital e-curve but need to replace the cast iron dizzy gear for a bronze with the roller stick. Plumbing is slowing as it is extremly expensive for the XRP fittings and line. Have almost $200 in steam lines and fittings alone. It is crazy how much all these little pieces add up to. The autometer adapters for the water temp and oil pressure were $24...for two brass fittings. I guess when you wanna play you better be ready to pay!!!

Can you guys please tell me what the total advance these carb'd motors like to run at. I am looking at dialing in my advance curves and would some input. Also, since the dizzy has built in rev limiter what max rpm is everyone sitting at?
Motor is 11:1 with trick flow ported/polished heads with 2.05/1.60 59cc chambers, gmpp intake, ms4 camshaft, probe forged pistons, stock crank and rods, arp rod and head bolts.

I will start at
0-300 rpm - 12 degrees
300 - 1000 rpm - 24 degrees
1000 - 2000 rpm ramping up to 28 degrees
2000-on 35 degrees

Made some progress today putting the motor in the car along with the tranny. Struggled with the motor mounts not sitting low enough on the saddle to get the bolts through. After six hours in 90 degree heat it's in bit now the crossmember mount of too far back for 1 1/2".

Still not sure how he is going to use the MSD software timing curve on a distributor.
You're more looking at limiting the curve total advance to 18 degrees or so and having 12 initial and 30 total to start out. There is no rpm vs timing "setting" like the new 6010 boxes are. You're doing it old school with a distributor and weights/springs to set the curve.
