Finally got the power steering remote tank and hoses routed. Realized I have no room to mount my coolant overflow tank now as the battery is too close the large radiator....so no coolant catch tank! Install inline canister type fuel filter and will be ready to fire.

I decided to mount the battery in the trunk and have a power distribution block at the core support with a shutoff switch since I won't be driving the car that often.

I got the engine turned over for about 20 seconds with no oil pressure. Started it and let it run for 3 seconds with no oil pressure. Borrowed the slickest tool ever from a friend........pressurized oil injection tank. It's a 1 gallon tank with a spout on top to pour up to 5 quarts of oil in and a valve with a hose that screws into the oil pressure sending unit hole. Pressurize the tank to 100psi, turn the tank upside down and slowly open the valve. Pushed 4 quarts of oil through every galley and it built oil pressure instantly upon restart. A must tool to have so you don't have to dry start.

The motor sounds pissed off with 11:1 compression and the MS4 camshaft!!!!

Unreal is all I can say. It is incredibly loud in the garage with headers and it idles perfect at 850rpm. I will try an make a video and upload it.

Almost ready ..........

Default Carb Problems

For the last couple weeks I have been tweaking on the engine to make sure everything is sealed, no leaks, fans working etc. Each start up only last for a few minutes and tried to start it on Saturday and my new holley 850 flooded the motor at idle by dumping fuel from the secondaries. Changed the needle and seats, adjusted float bowl level and same issue. Could not get the motor restarted and upon the second try vapor locked and fried the starter gears. Pulled the plugs and they are black. What size carb should I be running with my combo?

LS1 Stock Bore 346 c.i.
Probe 11:1 pistons
Ported/polished heads with big valves
MS4 camshaft
GMPP intake
3:43 gears
Tremec 5 speed

I am thinking I have a carb that is too big for the application? Based on all the carb calculators I have run it tells me either 650 or 750. Not sure what to do at this point?

Default Fired back up

Installed the new 750 and powermaster xp starter and fired up. Can't say enough about the quickfuel out of the box setup, hands down earned my business from here on out. Car idles at 950 need to fine tune carb settings for vacuum needed, otherwise feel good about the motor! Next onto driveline and setting pinion angles, along with bleeding clutch and brakes. I will try and take video this weekend if time permits....auction is in town this weekend and the cars are already stacked and packed at Mandalay Bay!!!

Default New wheels

For those of you who have been or are currently in my position certainly understand how difficult it can be to select a wheel for a project...especially when you are paying ALOT of money!!!

After much debate and lots of hours searching for the perfect look I have decided on the following set up;

Front - 18"x8.5" -6mm offset
Rear - 19"x10" -6mm offset

It will take about 3 weeks to have made and another few days shipping. Thoughts?

No extensions...it is part of the Stewart water pump....one complete cast part. I bought direct from the manufacturer, which also sells to Wegner, which is the same one they use in the complete front drive assembly. Look at the link below for more info. Be careful though because once you start down the road with a dizzy open your wallet because it will cost you $2k before you know it....TRUST ME!

Sheet metal valve covers SUCK!!!!! Bought two different sets and neither were "flat" on the mounting surface. If you look at how they build them they weld the billet flat piece for the base and the sheet metal together. The base heats up and gets warped. The LS valve covers have a groove for the gasket to sit in so if you try to sand the base flat (which I did) the groove gets two shallow for the gasket to seat. My valve covers were warped over 1/8" from corner to corner.

BTW if your interested I have a couple sets for sale dirt cheap!!

Default Wheel Issues

Well after 5 weeks received wheels on Monday and the rear are made wrong. They were suppose to be -6mm offset and came with +31...all jacked up! Fronts are were made per the order and hope the backs will be expedited since only the barrels need to be re-made.

They look good on the car now need to figure out tire sizes and what I am going to put on it for street driven car. Suggestions besides BFG g-force?

Beautiful car. Better keep a pit bull in the garage with that. It will draw attention.

Seems like an 850 carb should have worked well with that combo. You will be moving a lot of air. But hard to beat quick fuel stuff. Should have excellent response and tunability with that unit.

I run BFG G force sport tires. A summer only tire with good wet traction rating. They make them in every conceivable size.
