Stroked 3.8 question
So I have this loudmouth on another site trying to make some ridiculous claims to me.
He claims he stroked his 3.8 Series 2 motor to a 4.2(plenty of kits out there). He claims that with the stroker kit, exhaust, and a 75 shot he's running mid 10's in the 1/4
Am I on crack or is he lying through his teeth?

I highly doubt it. As far as I know nobody with an f-body has bought these stroker kits. Not saying it isn't possible, just saying last I heard they were having a hard time selling them to that crew. They're in a couple Grand Prixs though.
I have a cam only 3.8 with a 100 shot and it goes 12.5, getting 2 seconds out of a tiny stroker and possibly heads? seems doubtful.

sounds like some bull to me. i was pretty into the 3.8 series two and there were really only 2 guys i knew of that had the 4.2 stroker kit. there really was no reason to stroke it cause for all the work the gains werent worth it. it was way cheaper and easier to go turbo. the fact that this guy doesnt list anything regarding forced induction makes me say im 98% sure hes lying about that time.

boost is the only way you will see a 3800 block into the tens...at least safely. I might believe it with a 200 shot, but would still be skeptical.

He won't even run 12's with that setup let alone 10's.
