1991 Z/28 6.0L/T56 Swap, BRP Husler Headers, 8.8 Hybrid
Well after gathering knowledge and locating the engine and tranny, I have decided to start my build thread.
I've got a 55k LQ9 and a 13k T-56 in route to Northeast KS as I'm writing this. Other plans include...LS6(possibly LS2) intake, Thunder Racing TruTorque Lvl 4 cam, new valve springs, new oil pump, F-body oil pan, F-body accessories, Monster Stage II clutch kit, 3rd gen F-body LSX 1.75" swap headers, and some other goodies.
Below is a picture of my 103K all original 1991 L98/700R4, G92 dual cat, Z/28 hardtop. Serving me with dedication for 12 years. Big thanks to my wife(who races dirt track) for supporting and helping with the build.
More to come....

thanks max, i'm pretty excited about it. we hardly ever get it out to drive it now, it will be nice to have extra horsepower without sacrificing the drivability or creature comforts. we intend to car show and cruise it as much as possible when its finished.

A local guy in my area named Randy Yates prides himself in doing ls swaps in anything and everything. He got me a custom harness and pre-tuned pcm for my 85 Z28 ls swap. Yatesefi.com is where you can get his number. He is known on here as meanyellowz as well.

picked up a harness and ecm from a member here on the board, hope to get it soon so i can get it shipped off to be modded. coolmarocrazy, thanks for the info, called down to yates, nice guys, just didn't have quite what i was looking for.
on another note, the LS6 intake deal has gone south, the description was fradulent, and the pictures didn't show the ridge on the bottom....so now i have to go through the process with ebay to get it resolved...the ol' addage is true i guess, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

some updates, old engine/tranny combo is out for good. time to start cleaning, cutting, and installing.....
pulled the engine and tranny from the top, by myself, with no leveller.....i had heard how terrible this was, but it wasn't bad at all.
still haven't decided on a cam, need to make a few phone calls and see who can sell me the hardest i guess. please feel free to chime in with your suggestions as well.

i've been on the road this week...when i got back to my office i had an LS6 intake and this bad boy waiting for me....
55K LQ9, it was ordered as a long block, but came with manifolds, complete intake, and water pump. if anybody needs these parts let me know, they will be posted in the classifieds soon.

spent some time on the car last night. stripped down the block, pulled the rest of the TPI harness out of the car, and had just enough time for a cold beer.
as i was pondering the completed car itself, i was thinking about painting the LS6 intake white, fuel rails red, and the valve covers white/red with the coil brackets the opposite. probably should spray the block as well. i'm going to notch the k-member for some more pan clearance and por-15 it. then the bottom of the car in por-15, and the engine bay in John Deere Blitz black.
getting the TPI and LSX harness sent off to be mated up. also on the list, cut the hole for the shifter, install the Tick MC, new GSS340 fuel pump, fuel lines, and subframe connectors.

made some good progress this weekend. notched the k-member for oil pan clearance, need to pick up some 1/8" plate to burn back in. my poor little air compressor got a serious workout, couldn't keep up with my 3" cutter(must be time to update to an 80gal tank and dual stage compressor...haha, yeah right). removed the clam shells from the k-member. i've heard countless stories about how difficult this is...took me 15 minutes to do both sides, with the suspension completely intact. invest in a set of long handled metric wrenches and a cordless impact!
also spend some time with the drill and an cleanup wheel, things are starting to move forward at a pretty rapid pace. wonder when that will come to a screeching halt.....
also got my Monster Stage III clutch ordered this weekend, decided to go up a level and not have to worry about burning it up.

simple green'd the engine bay and did some clean up work. now i'm not so sure i want to paint it.....
removed the automatic shifter and cable and prepared the tunnel for the shifter hole. i've been debating on the fuel pump, whether to drop the axle and tank, or just pull the carpet back and make an access panel in the trunk. still debating on the cam:
Futral F13 - 230/232 .595/.585 112 +4 (or even the F14)
TSP Torquer V3 - 231/234 .643"/.598" 111
TR TRuTorq Lvl 4 - 227/234 .616/.614 115 LSA (maybe just throw caution to the wind and go TRex)
EPS 230/238 on a 113 (Spec'd by Geoff)
