Default sleeper exhaust

I am redoing this mess of an exhaust job on my new car. I want this flow master gone. Makes too much noise. Whats the best option. I want to make it a little more silent. I was thinking magnaflow or SLP power tour

What a hack job.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler on mine, very mellow but still sounds really good. Granted mine is a HCI V6, but when it doesn't make mine sound like poo, it should do great on a V8 lol!

My votes for magnaflow. Nice and quiet and really opens up when hammered down on

Magnaflow or Borla XR-1 sound pretty quite, but Magnaflow is less louder.

Yikes! I, too, purchased my current SS with a weld-in Flowmaster... though it looks much better than that!

Anyway, I'm surprised you find that to be too noisy. Honestly, the only thing quieter would be the factory muffler... IMO, anyway.

Had the flowmaster on my 00 z28 when I got it in March. Changed it to a stock ss muffler. Nice at idle but has a good rumble when you get on it.And doesnt get me any loud muffler tickets anymore.

This thread cracks me up. A few years ago, everyone seemed to want the *LOUDEST* exhaust system available on their F-bodies. "The noisier it is, the faster it must be," most people reasoned. Now, I see so many of us making the switch to quieter mufflers. (This coming from the guy who got one of the first SLP Loudmouth systems available, but who now runs a resonator connected to the quietest Magnaflow he could find, plus he runs dual resonated tips.) Either the times are a'changin'...or some of us are just plain getting old.

A lil bit of both I suppose. Older age and change of times.

My magna flow is noticeable at cold starts.
Almost stock at warm idle and good above 2000 rpms.

Sounds perfect. Not too loud or quite.

Thank you. I sometimes wish the CB was slightly louder.
