Can you use a 5.3 truck pan with a 4.6 K member in a 91 5.0 GT FOX BODY

Truck pans are easy to find a cheaper... I just want to make sure it works.

You can use it but I think it hangs down below the rack. I think F-body is better pan..

Made your on mounts welding them to the stock FOX 5.0 K member or did you get a 96-99 4.6 K member?

We just got a 4.6 K member... so I just wanted to be sure we could use the pan.

Well the pan will hit if just using the 4.6 K member it will need to be modified just like the 5.0 K member. I had a 4.6k member initialy intending to use it but decided I didnt need it. From what I under stand it puts the K member in a more foward position to give more clearance for the headers. I am turbo charged so didnt have that issue. Other then that I didnt see another benefit maybe someone else could chime in there. I fabricated the stock 5 litre k member to work with 04 cobra engine mounts. I positioned everything so that it worked together with the truck pan. It is a very very tight squeeze and there was only one way it would work. If you have the extra cash i would recomend getting an AJE. The truck pan fits fine with that, you will just have to decide if its to low or not for your likings. There is an LQ4 in a fox build somewhere on here that shows exactly how low the truck pan hangs with the aje k member.

Hey man. Got the engine in our car tonight. The 5.3 pan works fine with the AJE LS1 K member. Like mentioned above, the sump hangs kinda low for my liking tho. Not sure if Im going to leave it like that or swap to the f body pan. I think it will smash the pan if the car ever pulls the front wheels....

Hey guys.... need some more help.

I am getting the Spacer for the Th350/Th400 to bolt to the 5.3 but can I use the 5.3 Flywheel? Or do I need to get a different flywheel?

I think I heard that the 5.3 truck flywheel can be modded to fit or will fit?

Let me know.

BTW the motor with truck accessories came in yesterday... I am going to weld MOTOR Mounts to the stock K member.

well we are running the LS1 spacer $53.00 for the flywheel and getting slightly longer flexplate bolts to bolt up to stock truck fly wheel.

ANYBODY RUNNING TRUCK ACCESSORY DRIVE on there 5.0 FOX ?? We are going to try... we have all the accessories with our motor minus A/C compressor

We modified a QA1 k member for LS1 mounts but had to run an F body pan. it is 3/4" shorter at the front than a truck unit. the truck unit hit the top of the rack and when we raised it up it the trans hit the top of the tunnel.
