Default Need help with a/c ?????

I am going to run a 6.0l in a 71 chevelle. I would like to know what needs to be done to make the A/C work. I do not have the $$$$ to put in a complete vintage air system anytime soon. Can you guys help me out on a budget friendly way to use as much of the stock parts on the car and motor as possible.

If their is link that I may have missed please direct me to them thank you.

Does your chevelle have factory AC ?

I was able to get my Stock Chevelle system to work by just using the LS1 AC compressor... it does have a few set back due to the variable compressor. but that can be fixed or as I do. just live it it. I just sub the LS1 compressor, wire it up and re-did my AC lines.

I went with the vintage air. But there's a guy on corvetteforum (Superpowers) that sells the old style GM compressor mount. I have not hooked up the AC enable or compressor disable from the computer to the AC system, I figured I would see how it worked without it first.

I've got SuperPower's AC Mount - works great. Nice quality. I'm using it with a factory AC Compressor from an 88 Trans Am.

I used a truck compressor on mine, then I had lines made to hook to the factory El Camino a/c.

For the electrical side its a hybrid, the El Camino system controls 90% of it, but I did leave a hookup to the LSx computer so that it knows when the AC is on and can raise the idle etc.

What year/bodystyle haress/pcm are you using, I`ll let you know how to hook it up.

I have a 03-04 6.0l motor other than that its all stock and has not be mod yet. I what to get the info, on what is needed first.

I have been on the buy twice method and cant afford to do that any more. The wife is not to happy as I was just going to upgrade the suspension. That was over a year ago and 6/k and the car is no where near completion.

If you can pm me or email @ projectsyckness@verizon.net
