Hi all,
I have never used any AN fittings before, but I've read up here and went to the auto parts store to at least look at them. My setup is going to be almost exactly like the 67rsss schematic and like Bczee's. I believe I have it all figured out as to what I need now, except for an adapter at the fuel tank.

On my Spectra EFI tank from rockauto.com, I have a male 45 degree flare with 3/8-24 threads.



It comes with the female fitting to use hose and clamps with that I don't want to use....



I am hoping to find an adapter that goes from female 45 degree flare, 3/8-24 to male -6 AN. Does anyone know if such an adapter exists?

I have ordered all fittings, hose and tubing I need to plumb for fuel but haven't figured out how to adapt to tank without cutting 45 degree flare off. If there is no such adapter, how did others do it?

Have you checked Pegasus. If they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist.

If I was going to do it again.. I'd take the sender off.. and just get some 3/8" and 5/16" AN -6 Threaded ends and just braze them on... No compression fitting, no Quick Disconnect fittings at all.
That is what I did on my Fuel Rail... Would have done it on the sender if I had thought about it before I spent all of the cash for adapters and QD's.

Rob, that's actually a high pressure push-on hose fitting in your photo. The push-on high pressure rated hose and fittings are rated to 250psi. Having said that, if this is for an under car application I'd be inclined to simply go with hard lines; In you case standard brake line uses the 45 degree fittings.

AeroQuip(now called Eaton-AeroQuip) has every fitting you could need, whether you want aluminum, brass, steel, Push-Lok hose fittings, or hose clamp fittings...you name it. Usually your local "industrial hose" shops sell them & have the catalog. They can give you a customer catalog also, which explains, in detail, all the fittings & hose.

Thanks for all the help. I bought all the parts I need to adapt from flare to AN from Ace and Summit. If I knew how to braze and had confident in my brazing abilities, I might go that route. For now, all machine fittings for no leaks.

that fitting is soldered (not brazed or welded) on to the tube, heat it with a simple propane torch and it will slide off

Those all seem to be AN to AN fittings. I need SAE to AN. The Spectra tank outlet has 5/8" male with a 45 degree seat area.

I will measure the outlet line a if it has an 3/8" OD, I will try to heat off the origial fitting and use a compression fitting.
Unless anyone can come up with a better way.

Some are 45 degree to 45 degree, some are 45 to AN, and some are AN to AN. AN is 37 degrees.

I guess I'm not seeing it, I read these as a 45 degree angle fittings not a 45 degree seat area. One of the other post shows a FCM-1134 that sounds like it would work but seem to leak.
All this and sounds like I won't the spectra tank when all said and done.

This will make female 37degree flares in steel or aluminum tube easily.

Buy some tube nuts and the matching tube sleeves (they go on the tube before you flare it), and then buy a male -06 AN hose end of choice. I prefer to use the Russell braided teflon stuff because you can assemble them at home with hand tools.

I use mine to make custom steel brake lines, fuel lines, ect. Well worth the investment and produces leak proof connections.
