As for the wiring, look at your current fuse block set up. One of the fuse blocks will have two spaces marked INJ1 and INJ2. INJ2 should be empty on one side of the pins (so if you were to stick a fuse in there, it would only connect to one side of the fuse). So what you have to do is get a specific pin that is supposed to go into that fuse block. Put the pin in the block on the other side of the INJ2 spot and run wire from the block over to the engine harness on the passenger side shock tower and connect it to the ingnition feed that powers up the second bank of coils and injectors of the v8 engine harness.
alright thanks for explaining i got that down now last question so i can i have it correctly so now i have to get a wiring diagram and basically find out which one it connects to on the shock and move/replace it

Pretty much. One thing I forgot to mention is that you will need to swap in a higher capacity fuel pump. AFAIK the v6 fuel pump is not sufficient.

Yep, prior to the swap I had put in a V8 fuel pump from a 2001 and it worked fine for my V6. It was a direct "bolt"-in. So for this particular motor swap, we didn't have to swap the fuel pump.

Didn't try, we just used the LS1 A/C setup since it had less miles on it and the tubes fit properly. The aluminum components and rubber hoses were routed differently on the LS1 A/C setup compared to the V6 style, I guess to clear the LS1 accessories.

Just to add some more info to this swap... I just did this swap on a 98 v6 body with a 99 Z donor. For whatever reason I did not have to run that ING 2 pink wire you referenced. The 98 v6 body had that wire already in place running to a fuse labeled engine control management. with the same fuse load etc. The LS1 fired up and runs great so we left that alone. I had a whole host of other wiring changes due to the 98 / 99 differences.

But this is a heads up for anyone using a 98 v6 body, the ING 2 wire is likely present and hot.

I also did NOT have any issue with VATS, as I was initially concerned that I would.

Anybody with v6 swap questions feel free to pm me

Since my formula got T-boned, I'm hoping it gets totaled so i can use it as a donor for a lower mileage v6. Looks like it'll be the easiest swap i've done so far.

Thanks, Ree!!!

Nice clean swap.

Here's what I did on my 1998 Swap in the Fuse Box..

Stock Fuse Box..

Moved the Engine CTRL Fuse and Wire to the Fuel INJ 2 spot..

This powers that wire in the Fuel INJ 2 circuit to make it look legit..it wouldve worked in it's original spot, but I wanted it to be right. Everything else works as is.

Build Thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-6-7l-t56.html

C100 G is the 12v power for the 4L60E, when converting to a T56 I use that to power the Rev Lockout on the Harnesses I rewire..the Rev Lights are powered from inside the Car.

How difficult is it to keep cruise and traction control? I'm looking at a 99 v6. I can get the cruise / traction box and cables from a 98 (which i understand 98 and 99 used the same cables). I can also get the pedals from a 98 as well. Do I need to replace the under hood body harness or can you just run a few wires where needed?

quick question, could you use the same transmission lines and tubing or did you have to change that as well ?
