Starting a second LSX 3rd gen Camaro swap - '89 IROC-Z

*1st startup 2/19/11* my second LSX 3rd gen Camaro swap - '89 IROC-Z
Upon the completion of my swap in my '91 Z28 convertible, I went hunting for a car to buy for my dad for a Christmas present. I found the perfect one, it was a nice rust free, straight '89 IROC-Z hardtop roller. He wouldn't let me buy it for him though, but he got it anyways. We paid $500 for the rolling shell, a complete set of 241 heads, front/rear/valley covers, an intake and throttle body, and some other misc. parts for a block. We got a 6.0 block with it but it turned out to have some holes in it so we'll have to get another one later.
Anyways, here's the roller we're starting with. He's going to have a friend of mine spray it the same blue metallic as my convertible probably this summer before we start doing the swap. And no, that's not rust on the floor in the third picture. It's leaves and other garbage that was inside the car when we got it. The floors are solid.
Since it didn't have any interior in it, my dad also picked up a '91 RS as a parts car about a week ago. We're going take the grey interior out of it and put it in the red car and then part out everything else we don't need. I'm thinking he is going to end up using the '91 ground effects as well, we'll see. The teal car is complete with engine and trans, we don't have keys for it though. He picked it up for $700.
The goal here is a ultra blue metallic exterior with the charcoal Lier Siegler seats, 6.0L with a very mild aftermarket cam and 4L60E. He wants it to drive like stock, which means no cams that need a big stall. These are the seats he wants:
I'll update this thread just like I did with my convertible swap.

Cool swap, I love 3rd gens. Someday, someday... That teal one looks pretty good in the pictures, is it too rusty to make it worth-while? Btw, those seem like crazy good deals!

He's thinking about doing a full blown '91 Z28 clone with it. It's not like it doesn't have an identity crisis already anyways. It's got no engine, transmission, or interior I think it would look great with the hood blisters, gfx, and high rise spoiler with an LS block too boot
As for the knock on the fake air vents, you're right they are a little cheesy since they don't function. But I am actually going to be working on making mine functional this year. I'm going to try and make some ducting to move air behind the wheels and cool the brakes down.

Major update:
My dad and u just went and looked at a '98 Z28 off of craigslist. He ended up buying it for $2,800. It's a high mileage car with a newly rebuilt 4L60E, has some title issues which helped us get it so cheap. It's going to get parted out anyways.

Here's how it sits now. It's very close to being done. The drivetrain is all installed, we have to plug in all the wiring harness connectors, install the fuel system, put the rest of the interior back together, and put the front end on and it should be good to go. Oh and we need to get the exhaust made too.

WOW. I thought you got a great deal on the IROC. Even a better deal on the 98 Z28. Too bad it didn't have a good title. Just drive that. I prefer the looks of a IROC over a RS too. I always tend to keep cars stock looking and just put in the engine of my choice.
Good progress on your dads' ride.
