Default 2006 L33 5.3L 24x or 58x crank signal?

Who here has an 05 or 06 L33 option all alum. 5.3L engine from a ex. cab silverado? I have found an 06 and am wondering if its a 24x or 58x engine. I would just go look to see what it is but its kinda far and I have to get a friend to go because he has a running truck, lol. Thanks.

I thought all drive by wire setups use the 58x,so if it's drive by wire it should be 58x?

All drive by wires are NOT 58X. My 2004 GMC truck is 24X drive by wire. My friend's '05 Envoy GENlV 5.3 is 24X drive by wire. (At least when he bought it)

The easist way to check is to see if the cam sensor is for sure 24x is if the cam sensor is on the back of the intake.

FYI.... there are 24X engines with the Cam sensor in the front.
05 Corvette LS2 is a prime example.

And the '04 GTO as well. Just pointing out that if the cam sensor is behind the intake it for sure is 24x.

Now I think you guys are screwin with me...
The '04 GTO was an LS1 (24x) cam sensor behind intake.
The 05-06 GTO was the LS2 (24x) with the cam sensor in the front.

Sounds to me like there are too many possibles to sure. You may want to ask for the donor vehicles vin and find out from your local GM dealership parts counter. Its best to be for sure than relying on wrong possibilities.
