Default 1969 Firebird L92 4l80 slow-build

I got a nice '69 firebird out of the DC area several years ago. Apparently was a family project that got finished and then grew old on them.

My plans include a l92 custom ground eps lobe cam. 218/230 with .600ish lift.4l80. 3600 stall yank. 9inch ford 3.5 truetrack.Vintage air. Speedtech uca/lca/swaybar. Kore3 c5 brakes.

Gonna be a long project. Blew car apart fall'09 and hope to get it running by this summer.

Not sure what all this junk in the trunk is; guess I'll toss it in a dumpster.

Went with stainless works headers (prodigy) and s&p mounts. Tried edelbrock mounts with stainless works headers, but hit steering box. S&P plates are alittle thicker and put motor alittle farther forward and fit fine.

I am keeping vvt and have gotten a custom grind cam from Geoff Skinner at EPS. He will tune the car for me as well. He is only a couple hours away.
Something odd is that the phaser limiter I got said L-99 on package, but L92 instructions inside package.

I was VERY uncomfortable with that, so Geoff ordered another phaser for me. When I picked it up, it had two of the special tools inside (cresent shaped thing). Wow, what kind of quality control does comp cam have?
Would have been very dissappointed to have put in wrong phaser and bent a valve.

I am very happy with the quality of the stainless works headers. Nice flange, nice welds. Fits nicely with the s&p mounts.

If you don't want to fill up your dumpster with all that "junk", you can throw it into mine. I'll make sure it disappears lol.

Does this writing in block mean anything? Engine reportedly from ice/tree damaged 30k mile escalade. Are these marks done at the factory?

Swapped to ls3 intkes. Does anyone still lap valves? Kinda old school i guess.

Oh, work on car has really slowed down. Ruptured biceps tendon easter and had repair following week. Can't pick up anything heavy for 6 months. Bummer. Grats to my anesthesiologist for a fine axillary block and my surgeon for a fine repair. I was able to watch the entire operation. And thanks to my anesthetist for taking pics for me.
