Default 2004-07 CTS-V with an automatic?

Has anyone done or seen a 04-07 CTS-V with an automatic? I am interested in doing one and think it would be a sweet daily driver. I would assume a 4l60e would be used.... Will that trans even fit?

Please chime in if anyone has heard of this conversion

Default LS2 CTS-V Automatic.

I put a 2007 LS2 4L70E (trailblazer SS transmission) into a 1967 Nova. The harness and computor I bought was the GM Performance Crate engine Harness, However I added the Trailblazer SS . T42 Trans module with this. My initial problem was the Engine module would not communicate with the trans module. The reason is the CTS-V comes with a manual trans. So it does not need to communcate with an Automatic trans. So I changed (Vector Motorsports) the program to trailblzer SS and now it will communicate. I also had to use the matching throttle pedal.

I wouldnt go 60e but rather 4l80e or if you got the cash a 6l80/90e out of a new cts-v

I've enver seen or ehard of it done, and id like to know more about it as well. Im positive it can be done just not sure with what changes. i know one thing to look into would be the console and shifter from a V6 model as the V's have no auto console so that'd be something that would have to be swapped.

I'm sure the transmission will fit. The CTS shared the same platform as the STS which had the 6L50 and 6L80. I've always wanted to do a 6L80 swap in a first gen CTS-V...but they are still a bit too pricey used. All you would need to do is to have the harness converted for a T42.

I know it can be done but its probably gonna be pricey. I have never seen one done. I can assure you that with an auto on a bone stock V, it will be faster then 90% of the modded Vs with 6 speeds.

I was thinking about using a 4l65e or 4l70e with some mods to it. This trans is much cheaper then the newer 6 speeds. If the stock CTS-V PCM cannot be used, I would use and LS1 Vette or Fbody PCM.

I wouldn't go further for bolt on for mods because it would be my DD

Add a second speed sensor to the back of a 4l80e or 4l60e so that the pcm still thinks that it is a stick and run a stand alone tranny controller
