Default Anybody have a LSx 1st Gen thats a DD

Not neccesarily a EVERY day car, but for the most part...whos out there running a LSx 1st gen that they drive almost all the time. I was going to hop into another 4th gen, but have lately decided to go the route of putting a LSx motor in a 1st gen. How streetable are they with the 4l80E. I would assume that it would drive pretty much like any 4th gen would. I want a streetable, drive everyday, wouldnt be afraid to take it on a long roadtrip 1st gen. Just seeing whos out there driving theres and not keeping it a weekend warrior

It's not a camaro, but before the swap I dd'ed the Chevelle during the spring summer and fall. People daily drive them with old drive trains, I can only suppose efi would make doing so even easier.

My Chevelle. tho is not a Daily Daily driver. It is driven 2 to 4 times a week. Makes it around all over the SF Bay area and has made trips every year from SF Bay area to Reno for Hot August Nights for a week long trip. ! I have had only one problem and that was with the intake pump wiring. Zero problem with the rest of the swap.

Many have driven there conversion on long hauls and as daily drivers..! With the EFI, minor mod's.. you will not have any problems except for wanting to drive it more !

Thats what I figured. With the LSx motor and tranny, I wouldnt see why it would be much different than driving my 00ss everyday ha. Im looking around now to see if I can find a good deal on a Chevelle, Nova or Camaro roller

I get a company car so I dont commute in it, but anytime the weather is nice I hop in mine without thinking about it, including the 3200 miles of powertour in a few weeks. I think i put 6k miles on it last year

A rack and pinion kit would be one addition to make my car an even better DD... everything else is good as is..

My nova that I did a swap with I drove every single day for 4 months last year. Took into Chicago, up to WI, all over!

With the 6 speed, I was able to hit 22 mpg+ even with 4:10 gears.

Oh, and I never broke down other then blowing a fuse. Just replaced it and kept going.
