Default Project Vw Passat Rwd - Ls1 - TKO600 ++

Hello..

We are some craysy guys from norway that are building a Vw Passat Stv 2002, with a Ls1 engine and tko 600 gearbox.

The car is a station wagon and will off course hav RWD !!

We need as little help with flywheel , Clutch bellhousing choises ..

What do we need ?

The enginge come from a Transam 2002 mod..

we have the engine en gearbox a Tremec TKO600

witch bellhousin ?

Clutch ?

Flywheel ?

Other parts needed ?

We would be werry happy if somone can help us with this..

#621 BBC bell housing or Keislers housing with the extra LS bolt hole

Adjustable stud, BBC clutch fork, 1 3/4" long throwour bearing
or
Hydraulic throwout bearing

LS1 clutch/flywheel (99-02 camaro)
or
Sachs 1050 (0.4" thicker) flywheel, 11" BBC clutch

I run a TKO with Keisler's bellhousing and their hydraulic throw out bearing. I am running a GM LS7 clutch, flywheel and pilot bearing. Nice heavy flywheel, should get that wagon moving.

My Keisler bell doesn't have the extra bolt hole. Must be an older one.

Clutch and flywheel you can get from a chevy dealer or GM direct. Kielser engineering sells a bell, or you can go to jegs, summit racing, pretty much anywhere for an aftermarket unit. Most ship overseas. I imagine there are dozen or more sponsers on here that will set you up with everything in one package.

Save me freight cost.

i will search the big www for some this weekend.

Thanks for the help so far...

Any other things i MUST do with this motor ? any upgrades that cost little money ?

The ecu is tuned a bit, it`s a guy i norway that have several of ls1 in difrent cars, he say the motor is putting out 440hp now. with a new tune.

Everything in one package for a manual z bar linkage. Just get the 26 spline disk.

Ok.

Then we have ordered this :

Bellhousing, QuickTime, GM LS-1 to Ford T-5 or 3550/TKO500-600
Our Tremec TKO600 is a FORD spesific one ( TCET4617 )

Clutch Set/Flywheel, LS series, 11" Kevlar/Kevlar, 26 spline hub No bearings- F/W - LBS 168
tooth

Pilot bushing, SB Chevy 1.094" x .670" id
Hyd T/O bearing, Slip on, GM Muncie, Saginaw, T-10

So now the build of the passat can move on..

I was going to say. I thought passats were FWD. Looks like you cut off more metal than you left.

Good project.

You know it is going to ruin the traction in the snow, right?

I dont think we have mutch tracktion on tarmac either

This car was a 1.9Tdi. at first we had a Audi S4 engine V8 4x4.. but the cost to rebuild the engine is to mutch.. ca $7000 ... pistons, cam, +++

So a Ls1 is a bether choise

Front and rear suspension is from a BMW E39 . 530i all aluminium

Coilovers ++++ .. The diff is alsow from a 530, but we thinking somthing like a M5 in the future..

Engine will get some breathing help, turbo/supercharger not desided yet..

Any meanings there ? any good kit i the states ?

is there any chance a

Eaton M90 supercharger can be mounted on the Ls1 ?

a new intake manifoild ?

Mor pic:










Engine sits where it is going to.. gearbox is in..

From the gearbox to the rear dif the shaft is missing 8 cm, so we have to make a spacer.

The shifter on the Keisler "perfect fit' is about 2 inches too long!

Hmmm.. not sure.. hehehe.. kidding... Yes have just enough, 1 to feed the surgetank an 2 to feed the engine, if 1 fails it`s 1 left to do the job..

And with a Supercharger it will need more fuel.

"gMAG" Where can we get a shifter that is nice... i like oure 50cm long ..

We need a shifter, and we need injectors,throttle body and fuelrail..

any good place to shop this ?

yes, you guys sure are crazy

I always thought it would be nice to have an old Scirocco with a LS1 behind the seats.
But this should be way more practical
