LQ-4, T-56 S-10 build
After 196k miles, the clutch went. I got the truck cheap 8k miles ago. Been sitting on this engine and trans for a while. Time to marry them together.
The truck is a 1998 short bed regular cab 2 wheel drive. Started out as a 2.2 5 speed. Had a 7 5/8 which I put a posi in.
As of now, the truck has been blown apart, the rear has been switched for an 8.6 with LS-1 Camaro disk brakes. Made a setup up front with 13.5" Z-51 Corvette rotors and CTS-v Brambo 4 piston calipers.
The engine is a 133k mile LQ-4 with a 224/228 cam, matching springs, LS-6 oil pump, LS-2 timing chain, LH-8 oil pan, Vette accessory drive, FAST 78 intake and ported stock throttle body.
The T-56 is a 700 HP spec GTO trans. Converting over to an F-body shifter if the shifter from the GTO is too far back.
Hoping for some good drag strip times. We'll see. I am waiting on the engine harness (2 months out at this time), and then off to American Racing Headers to build the custom long tubes.
Enjoy some of the build pics up to todays progress. More tomorrow and next week.

The two months does suck. But it gives me enough weekends to get the rest of the work done. I need to build the exhaust, the induction system, and swap some front end parts. With only weekends, it will take a little while to do. If I was to do this in less than a month, then I would have ordered it a while back. Just shows you need to be prepared for things like that.

Thanks for the bump.
Got alot of updates actually.
Took out the LQ-4 and selling it. My built LS-1 is almost done, so that will be going in.
Removed the LS-1 style Vette A/C compressor for an LS-2/3 type. (better house routing)
Got the frame cleaned up to the back of the cab and all painted. Installed some 4 cylinder ZQ8 springs, rebuilt the lower control arms with new ball joints and poly bushings. Added tubular upper control arms. Installed a ZQ8 steering box.
I have also installed a hydro boost brake booster in place of the stock vacuum booster.
Custom built a trans crossmember for the T-56 with "pass through exhaust".
At this time, I am installing a plastic 2003-2005 2 door Blazer fuel tank rear of the diff. Also installing a complete fuel line system with a 255 pump.
The CPW harness came in and is great. Looking foward to getting it finished up and running for the spring. I decided to takle alot more work than I wanted to. But at least when the driveline is done, everything will stay put and I won't have to swap motors.
Here are a few more pics.

Thanks. The tank will be a bit more. Still working on finishing up the front suspension and motor. It's a weekend dollar at a time thing.
The harness was about $800 ish. All 100% new and fit like a glove. Money well spent for someone like myself who doesn't do electrical work.
I couldn't see leaving the stock weak crossmember. And I would have had to mod it to work with the T-56. So I just built one that will handle just about anything.

You are right. It has been a bit.
I have finished the front suspension. Got it all back together with ebay tubular upper control arms, new Moog ball joints, poly lower control arm bushings, ZQ-8 4 banger springs, ZQ-8 steering box, Global West tie rod adjusters, and Helwig sway bars.
At this time, I have sold the LQ-4 and installed my rebuilt LS-1. It is short block for the moment. Deciding on cylinder heads.
I am also working on finishing up my front brakes. Needed to machine an old rotor into a hub, and get the steering knuckles cut and welded for caliper mounting.
I would love to post pictures. But my omputer is down and I am posting using my tablet.

LS 1 parts
I have a stock LS Harness from a 2000 Chevy Truck 1500. I have the ECM that came with this Harness. This was going into my 72 El Camino, but I got a Smoking Deal on a New Bigstuff3 ECM & Harness for the Motor & Trans. This is WB/O2 Programmable! Are these the Parts your looking for?

I would think after almost 6 years he might not need them anymore.
