Worked on getting my buddys stock 5.3 Turbo Blazer back togather this last weekend (added zo6 cam and prc 650 springs and some ported 853's). We were both surprised by how much stronger it feels at same 14 psi, ran 124mph before and very noticable difference now.
Will be working on my setup this weekend with the tuning more then hope to be off to the dyno in a couple weeks to get it dialed in the rest of the way (no tags or ins on this car). We shall see I guess.
Any guesses on what it will put down on a Dynojet? I was really hoping for 600whp with like 14psi and 15* timing (thru a th400 & 9"). Does that sound possible with stock cam?

Nice car!
It nice to see this build come up. I've got a 87 GN that i just ordered about a 1k with of parts to throw at my swap! Im not turboing it for now just cause i want to make sure things are up and running that and i don't have the money for a turbo set up yet. Curious what you did with the fuel system as far as routing the lines. Single in tank pump or two? Did you just use a stick welder or mig welder to weld up the manifolds? What motor mount plates are those?

We used a tig welder for everything, but I'm sure a MIG welder would work too.
The solid mounts were reused from the SBC (Moroso pt# 62630 & 62510) and the adapters are eldebrock pt# 6701. Stock GN hood clears truck intake just a 1/4" or less.

So did some inital tuning tonight and was getting no where fast. Was almost like it had a dead cylinder. After checking around all for coils on the passenger-side are dead. Turns out the harness that splits to the 4 coils was bad. Swapped the coil bank out with a spare and runs like a charm now. Seeing. 5psi in 1.0 seconds so I'm feeling pretty good about the setup, will be doing some more tuning this weekend and finish odds and ends on the car. Hope to Dyno in the next couple weeks.

Nice build, Im gathering parts for a similar build in my monte ss, I going to try and set mine up like the GN they did a nice job with that setup from the factory. I'm looking to squeeze a pt-76 in there with a 6.0 and a 3.5 downpipe and keep the a/c... Hope I can make it fit, Thanks for sharing your build and keep us posted on the #'s it puts down...

So a couple of Jegs boxes showed up with more goodies yesterday (fuel rails, fittings & 2-step). The Aeromotive Eliminator fuel pump was just too much for the factory truck reg to try to manage, as we were not able to get the fuel pressure below 78 psi, lol. After some rigging problem was fixed, so I had to order rails (lucky I had the Areomotive EFI FPR already sitting on a shelf). More pics and updates soon.

Ok, so new fuel rails are now installed. I think they blend in ok with everything and they will fit the new setup for next yr already in the works, lol (Forged 408 with CNC L92s and Vic Jr intake).
Most of this weekend was working on cleaning up wiring and fixing things that needed attention. We also fixed two very bad leaks at the vbands. And I thought it spooled up fast before, all I can say is wow. Will try to get a video of the spool up when its tuned a little better, still very rich. Dyno #'s will be soon I hope.

Car looks great!
Details on the rails???
I am using a truck intake on mine, using an old set of rails that were for the LS1/6 manifold, thinking im going to have to make some adapters or something. was that a bolt on part? or one off?
