Default 2000 Sonoma 5.3/t56 swap

well, finally decided to start a build thread. After driving a truck my friends built, 96 Sonoma with GTO LS1 and T56, I had to have them build me one. Here is an idle clip of that truck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_CgZ0sO5t4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Back in March I bought a 2000 Sonoma 2.2 automatic with a locked up motor.

A short build list(will post the full one, once I have actually bought everything, lol)
On to the good stuff. My build consists of(probably forget a few things):
Alum 5.3 with polished crank, new rings, and new bearings
CPW wiring harness
CPW poly mounts
LS6 intake
LS6 valley
H3 oil pan
ported, polished, bowl job, valve job, milled 30 243s
lunati .650 dual springs
pushrods
stock rockers with comp trunion upgrade
C6 accessories
underdrive pulley
85mm Maf
ported LS1 throttlebody
LS1 injectors
BRP 1 3/4" Longtube inframe headers
3" dual exhaust through X pipe and magnaflow mufflers with turndowns(might have to do a Y)
melling oil pump
comp timing chain set
T56 out of a 2000 camaro including the hydraulics, flywheel, and I think a mcleod clutch. Had my friend rebuild it.
Hurst short throw shifter
DJM 2" drop spindles and 3" blocks
Tick performance speed bleed
EPS start up tune
differential and 4.10
Umi upper control arms
Suicdedoors carrier bearing brace
Brp trans crossmember

On to the pics(cell phone pics for the most part, sorry)

Stuff that i have done, but no pics of:
Brp trans mount is in
Floor shifter column cover on
Corvette fuel filter
2.2 flex fuel pump
New fan shroud trimmed to fit the fans
Probably some other stuff that I can't think of, lol.
I'll post more pics and hopefully a video of it cranking as soon as my friends come back from vacation. They picked a most inconvient time for vacation.

Did you have to make the transmission tunnel bigger to fit the T56 or is it fine stock with out modifying it

It fits fine, some guys bend up the lip at the bottom of the firewall to make removal of bellhousing easier.

Didnt crank. We are thinking that the original motor might not have been locked up. It might have had electrical issues. No power to the starter and no power to the fuel pump. 0 fuel pressure. We jumped the neutral safety switch under the dash and still nothing. It's getting power to the fuse block and PCM. The dash is lighting up. You can jump the starter and it will turn over, but not with the key.

I know, but I would have wanted to rebuild the one out of a junk yard. Like the idea of everything being new and I have no desire to drag race this truck. It's going to be my dd and occasional roll race truck.

Better quality idle clip

Little update. The rear end and leaf springs were a pain in the ***. After fighting the leaf spring bolts, i decided to go ahead and order new bushings, bolts, and shocks. I should have my c5 compressor and custom ac lines by next week. The rear end is on hold until my caliper brackets come in. They were left out of the kit I ordered from summit. Started putting the front cap back together. As far as I know, the only thing left to get is exhaust welded up and tires.

The rear end is done. I por15'd it today. Will be put in tomorrow. Replaced the leaf spring and shackle bushings and replaced the shot shocks. Also laid down some sound deadener(?) and put my carpet and seats in. Hoping to have my c5 compressor and lines in by next weekendl, so I can try and get my exhaust done. Depends on how much the exhaust will cost though.

Awesome! I'm in the process of switching the 383 in my s10 for a 5.3 right now. Did you have to notch your engine crossmember? Also, who makes those headers?
