I'm considering this with a 66. Did you use a GTO pan to clear the steering? Looks good so far. Let's see more pics.

i used the GM muscle car swap pan its just a cast aluminum copy of a standard small block pan to make a ls fit in just about anything and the price was cheep for a GM part from the dealer like $160 for pan, pick up tube, dipstick, gasket, windage tray, and new hardware i plan to have it fired up befor the new year and will get some more pics up soon thanks

How low does the muscle car pan hang in the caddy? Despite the name I can't recall seeing a car application in which it actually fit, it's just an H3 pan with a new name.
Swap looks good, plenty of room behind the grille for a turbo or two.

Interesting. Does your Caddy have the centerlink behind the crossmember? The 65-66 uses a front sump style pan FYI. I'm curious if yours is the same.

To true! You think GM would realize the huge market and mass produce a REAL muscle car pan for that $150. Bean counters rule the world...

Man there is enough room under that hood for ANOTHER LS! Its cavernous in there. Beautiful car man!

i would love to do a turbo or twins on it but not in the budget the pan sits about 3/4 in higher then the cross member. yes the steering is in the rear of the cross member like a 68-72 nova but this pan clears it by about an inch never seen the h3 pan but know this pans sump is 1.25 in shorter in height and 3/4 in shorter front to back and $300 cheaper then the Holley pan

I have a Cadillac (CTS-V) engine cover in great shape that would look nice on there.
Great swap, you don't see many of these now a days.

i cut the power steering and alternator brackets apart cut the center part out then remounted the power steering then mounted the alternator to the lower of the two holes just have to clean up alil and weld the new sleeve for the second bolt on the alternator bracket and mount the idler pulley bracket sofar looks like it will work and gave me the room i needed for the hood

Great project... what headers are those? and what trans did you use? if you don't mind (curious about how high i will need to raise the tunnel or if i will even need to)

I just started tear down of my '63 convert. Will be getting a 6.0/4l80 and a complete body off resto.
