LS3 into a STOCK 63 CORVETTE FRAME QUESTION
Hi all, Looking to do a LS3 conversion into a stock C2 corvette frame. The question I have is I want to put the compressor for AC down low perhaps a fit issue? Before I start changing motor mounts will this work without doing this? I do know about the swap dingo type brackets but after speaking with them their brackets will not work. Thanks Steve.

Will do! I have the brackets/accessory kit coming this week so I will know shortly if low mount AC will work? Thanks again Steve.

I am in the process of a swapping a 6.0 LQ9 LS in my 78 vette. I think our engine bays are the same and don't think you can mount anything low. It will run in to the upper A Arm bolts. Check out Holley LS http://www.holley.com/ApplicationsTypes.asp?Type=943 They have a good set of instructions.
I would also invite you to the vettemod.com site. There is a good group over there that have done a few LS swaps. http://vettemod.com/forum/showthread...ls+engine+swap

You also need to check you water pump heater hose outlets for interference. What transmission are you going to use? You may need to modify your cross member.

I have a TKO 500 in the car now. I made the crossmember removable because I am thinking of updating the trans at some point. Your engine picture looks good! Steve.

With the TKO, I'm assuming you'll want to be close to the stock trans location. That means 1" setback plates. You'll probably have A arm and adapter plates/mount clearance issues. Add to that the LS3 has a variable displacement compressor...you'll probably end up with a sanden compressor on a holley or kwik upper passenger bracket.
