LowNfast Chevelle 2.0 - 408/6L80/Turbo
Just getting started on Chevelle 2.0, this will be a ground up build using lessons learned here and from personal experience. I will still have my 71 Chevelle as a daily/fun car.
You can check it out here- https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1490158
Follow along, I'll be sure to update as I go.
I found this 72 Chevelle on Craigslist, it's a basket case but the body is very solid and mostly ready for paint. I have the build sheet with the car, it was orange flame, white vinyl top, white interior from the factory. It was sold locally in Texas where I live and has been here ever since.

Another one! Yes! I have used your 71 build as a reference on my 72 el camino build. If you look at my build you'll see a lot of similarities with how i mounted my engine, fuel lines im using etc.... Reading your post is what made me decide to bite the bullet and pull the frame out for a full resto. Here in a couple weeks i will have a big update and youll see that im copying your exact fuel set up and a lot of other things. Good luck with this one! I will be watching closely! Subscribed!

Thanks for the kind words! I'll be waiting on your update. It's awesome to hear that I inspired some one. Stay tuned on the black car, I have some changes coming for it as well, nothing drastic, since I daily drive it. 20 mpg in the Chevelle sure beats 12 mpg in my truck.

I decided to leave the blower/vent hole exposed. I like routing my ac/heater lines for the vintage air thru the fender. I still need to do some more work to clean things up but needed every thing in self etch primer to prevent rust.
Cleaned up what little surface rust I could find on the floor pans and sprayed some primer.

With a tubo-charged 408 motor I don't think that a stock 6L80 will hold up all that long with that much torque and power. If you aren't already I would send it out for some upgraded parts. Looks like a darn nice project in the making.

Picked up a parts car to rob the front end from. The dash has no cracks and fits perfect. The story I got was that the car was garaged up until 4 years ago. Some purists may not approve but I love the 70 front end!

Started tearing down the 70 for its parts. I'm impressed at the factory panel fit.
I'm either going to put my 72 front clip and sell the 70 or part it out. Just not sure yet. Here are a few pics of the car.

I don't think the wife will be happy but I found a place to keep the 70 front clip. It's in good shape. Just a little rust on the bottom of the passenger fender. I lower patch should take of it.
This 70 came with plastic inner fender, I knew it was an option but never have seen them until now. Ill get the parts cleaned up so I can test fit every thing on the 72.
