A few more stages complete. Onto the final weld-in.

Went ahead and welded up the whole thing... This is the finished product:

Right now, I'm working on relocating my turbo forward in the engine bay to see if I can make the airflow more direct to the turbine instead of the traffic jam of an inlet I had before.

I'm about to pull the interior to redo the wiring and install a stereo and my Vintage Air A/C system. I just bought a house, so I've been buttoning up some flooring the past few weeks and I'm waiting on my electrician to install my new breaker box and 220V outlet in my garage so I can start welding again.

Here's a merge I've been working on...

Still some cleanup to do, but should be night and day compared to what I had before.

Thanks. I'm redoing much of the engine bay right now, trying to make it a little more sleeker, while I'm redoing the hot side to flow better and be more hidden.

Almost finished with the new hot side design. Should help with my boring first gear.
Ran two truck manifolds down and forward and built into a dual-45* merge by the heater hose outlets. This goes into a short 45* 3" diameter piece to the v-band on the turbo flange. Still have to place the wastegate though, which should be fun with my R4 A/C compressor right in front of the passenger head.

The GT45 is a twin scroll, so I went with a divided flange obviously, but I blended the inlets to fit the 3" v-band contour. This is my first attempt at any sort of porting process, and I'm sure my welding is sub-par, so be nice. Nobody will be looking close enough at my welds to care.

Will do. I'm planning on a full work day this Saturday and Sunday which should almost get me on the road again. I've got a cars and coffee meet next Saturday that I'm aiming for. Should be able to get it done in time.

Here's where I'm at after this weekend. I had to stop for other things a couple more times than I wanted or I would have finished, but that's alright.

Notice the steering box clearance issue...

I know, I'm not a welder. But I can pretend.

Placing the wastegate where it used to be just above the passenger manifold and feeding back into the downpipe. I was considering coming straight up from the merge, but my A/C compressor is going to be right there. This should work alright still.

From what I know about physics, it's hard to see how good your welds are when you're going 130mph.

Haha so very true. You'll get someone who will tell you that will never work and kill flow. As your knocking off 10s in the 1/4 mile and they are rocking a buss pass. But they "know it all" and have a buddy or a friend that does this or that!
