Default Brake ideas for Fox body turbo

going to boost 10 to 15 psi but with great power comes great brakes. I am keeping 4 lug any big brake kits for the fox body? Hate drum brakes. Any suggestion?

Doesn't Ford Motorsports have a stock rear disk upgrade for the Fox Mustangs. I see no reason not to use it, unless you plan on road racing the car.

checked their website cant even find them online. maybe ssbc has some but at $700 just too expensive for my taste. Anyone know just how much the stock drum brakes can hold? I hate the idea of stopping a 500 to 600 hp car with drums in the back.
Want to keep it 4 lug because I have already purchased rims and tires.

It'll stop, but may take a good long while or lock brakes up on you.
I just traded my brakes for 98 GT brakes, with 98 front hubs and rear axle.
But I went to 5 lug doing that.

A 93 cobra rear disc setup would probably be your best bet. I see them pop up on craigslist every now and then at a decent price. I would also imagine there would be some company out there that sells a kit.

87-88 turbo coupe is the same setup. They are a little easier to find as well.

If this is a drag application hp has nothing to do with breaking. What MPH are you thinking you will trap?

Also early SVT had 4 lug disk setup, I found a whole rear end 8.8 disk to disk from a 84.

My car traps low 120's mph and have no problem slowing down on it.

Are you running v8 front brakes? Brake systems are 70/30 on average and with the weight of the fox I would put more infuses on the front while using the best drums and shoes available on the rear.I probably wouldn't spend the denero on a rear disk brake system for 4 lug

Im running 4cyl front rotors calipers and break pads. All new

Wouldn't the rear be more important than the front since im running 550 to 600 hp at the rear?

Most people that race upgrade to the 5 lug. It doesn't cost too much and greatly increases safety. People use to take the rear axels & front rotors off Ranger trucks for a direct replacement upgrading to 5 lug.

Once you have upgraded to 5 lug you have lots of options for brakes & wheels. It's easier to find good 5 lug wheels used than 4 lug & most aftermarket brakes come in 5 lug.

Just my $.02

I feel gain per dollar would be on the front v8 11'' front rotor set up.I would hunt down the front v8 spindles and parts. There is a difference between 4 and 8 cyl brake performance and worth the trouble to do the swap,i'm still on drum rear and it stops fine

Okie dokie.

these will hold when you are trying to boost it up on the line. Plus being $400 cheaper doesn't hurt either.

Baer total of 2 pistons in the rear 1 each wheel.

Aerospace total of 16 pistons on the rear 8 on each wheel.

Oh sorry those BAER brakes are 4 piston calipers. still you will have twice the braking power with the aerospace setup. C-clip elems will bolt the axle to the housing. Is it a street car or a race car?
