Default 1984 cutlass doing a ls swap L33 have some questions on how to get a more hp from L33

I heard maybe the LS six intake gives a little more horsepower than the stock truck intake. Is that true ?

Im going to go a different rt now. I have a Ls guy that's going to punch it out to a 383. I'm undecided on what assembly kit I'm going to run but I bought a D1 pro charger and I had my heads cleaned up new valves. I don't know what else I can do with the 799 heads I have to make them better if anything. Since my last thread I have bought An ls2 intake and 60lbs injectors headman long tube headers the d1 PC. The next step is boring it 383 and picking out the all forged assembly. Will the heads and intake make any difference since I'm doing forced induction? I have to do a spec sheet from vengeance racing in Georgia. They will spec it to find out exactly what I'm going to need as far as cam Pistons rods etc. I don't know what kind of rwhp to expect. But my Oldsmobile with the V6 now weighs in around 26-2700 pounds I am assuming the all cast-iron 3.8 weighs about the same as the all aluminum 5.3. Also I'm running a 4l60e. And a 9" rear end.

I also have a Walbro 255 pump baffled sump fuel tank. Aftermarket fuel rails. Might have to double up the fuel pump with another one ?

The more hp you can make before boost will let you lower amount of boost needed to make your end goal.

I didn't weigh my l33/th350 combo that i put in place of all cast iron 4cyl/ aluminum 5speed, but the front end sits a 1/4" higher now. I assume it weighs less because its been on its own weight for almost a month.

Looking to put down 550 6 to the ground. Gm doesn't suggest pouring out the L 33 aluminum block only the cast block. So I'm going to be running heads I have I have an LS2 cam yellow ls2 springs. And ls2 intake with a d1 procharger with Intercooler headman long tube and 4l60e 9" rear "gears are not what I was looking to run and will be changed out once I get the bugs out"

I just scored a lq4 and some dimond flat top pistons new unopened that are for a 403 stroker. So after I get the 5.3 going with all probs worked out ill swap that motor in spring. Motor 403 is going to be a winter project. Is it true the ls2 intake robs power from a 5.3 even with 799 heads ?

L33 will have to be sonic checked to see if it can be bored and usually requires being sleeved which is expensive. As far as LS2 intake, It makes more power in upper RPM range which trades off low end and mid range torque. So to answer your question, Yes and NO. It depends on application.

As long as the bearings are fine bolt the turbo on it and boost it, drive it till it stops
