Anybody have a quicksilver in a cutlass console? Looking for pics. have a better idea? Have a 4l80 don't think stock shifter will work plus need neutral safety and reverse lights. Just looking for best solution thanks

I know you can get a stock 2004R shifter to work with the 4l80 as I did it on the Holley Monte Carlo SS before the B&M shifter was installed. The stock lever arm on the 4L80 needs to be shortened to make it work as the position of the cable pin creates an arc swing the exceeds the stroke length of the stock shifter/cable. After you do that, you need to whittle down the diameter of the pin so that the 2004R cable eye will fit over it and you can then shift away as you desire. This does nothing for the neutral safety switch or back-up lights, so you would still have that to deal with independently.

factory floor shift cars have a bar from tranny to frame. then rod up to steering column. in turn that control the switch for back up & neutral safety switch. if go to aftermarket floor shifter you can take wires over to shifter switches.

That's right and you can adapt the stock hard linkage to the 4L80 to operate the stock neutral safety switch but I never got around to it before moving on to my next swap project.

I saw yours toddoky but the monte console is a bit different from a cutlass. My interior is mint so I'm a little hesitant to modify my console. im hoping the b&m gear selector indicator will integrate with my bezel. it would be nice if the whole thing fit underneath. I ordered one so I'm gone give it a shot I've seen it done in gns

I bought a shift works lever because my 4l80 has a long shift shaft for a neutral switch but my cable is too short and cable bracket from 350 turbo is a no go .I have a 2004r detent plate I was going to install in my shifter but I'm going to give the b&m a try. It will solve my n safety switch and back up light problems . Hopefully it will fit in console

I had a Quicksilver shifter in my 1986 Cutlass 10+ years ago. It was with a TH-350 though. The trim provided with the Quicksilver would literrally squeeze in the stock console. A small bead of silicone would've hold it in place just fine as it would pop out from time to time.

I saw a pic of a quicksilver in a regal the whole thing was under the stock bezel. That's what I would like to try but I think a regal console is deeper. If it won't work I will use the chrome bezel from the quicksilver
