Source for Good Fan Relay/Connector and other wiring supplies?
Thanks to some forum searching I think I have a pretty good idea on how to wire up my ls1 fans to be pcm controlled (98 LS1 Swap). However I am trying to find a source for the actual relay and connector/harness.
I have found some cheap relays/connector/wiring leads on ebay but the thickest gauge wiring I can find is 14. I was looking for 10 or 12 gauge based on what I have been reading, where would I find these? I want to avoid spending big bucks on the ready to go harness if I can do it myself.
For example...assume these are thin gauge wires:

Secondly I have an aftermarket EZ wiring harness and need to add some connectors inline so I can still remove the bed/front clip/doors without unwiring the entire truck. I have purchased some universal connectors from China that seem to work ok, however I think I need a special set of crimpers for the connector pins. Can someone point me in the right direction for a set of crimpers that will work with he little pins?

thanks

I've used Waytek a lot, but you really need to know what you need.

You can use a heavy duty relay like this for the fan, so you don't have to worry about the wimpy Bosch relay harness for the fan relay:
I used this nifty fused relay box to move headlight / fan relay loads out of the cab of my truck and in to the front wheel well. It came pre-wired and loaded with fuses and relays for $100 or so.

I used this junction box to make the connections to the harness connections to the front headlights, turn signals, relay outputs and triggers, etc.

And installed:
with mini relays and mini fuses and exposed junction box connections.
all buttoned up<br/>note, colored wires are 12V+ trigger (small) and relay output (large).

Those ebay relays do come with only 14ga cable. You can depin them and use basically any 1/4" push to seat tang terminal. A quick ebay search yielded this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PER-074-20-Terminals-For-Relay-Connector-Housing-10-12-Gauge-Wire-Clip-In-Spades-/261376143437?hash=item3cdb3b704d&vxp=mtr
Underneath it was this gem

Not sure what brand those connectors are, yakazi, deutche... doesnt really matter. They're crimp termination like nearly all terminals out there and go with 18-20ga cable
I use these. There are multiple tooth combos for sealed/unsealed, large and small terminals (ex 20ga GT150 terminals vs 12ga 630 terminals)

Other crimpers exist, but that one should do all you need without breaking the bank

Pocket,
That is good info. thank you for sharing!
Do you have another crimper you'd recommend for other terminal ends - I use a lot of non-insulated terminal endss covering after crimping with adhesive lined shrink wrap.
I bought a (cheap ~ $30) ratcheting one from Amazon and found despite good reviews I didn't like it so much. It was good for insulated terminal ends (it came with 2 sets of dies).
Thank you!
Doug

Basic rule of thumb:
Open barrel terminal like the small ones above require a crimper for that range
Closed barrel terminals like common stuff you'll find anywhere (butt crimps included) can be crimped with nearly anything that clamps down. I prefer cast iron versions like this. The stamped tools tend to bend easily
Closed barrel terminals rarely produce a good crimp in one squeeze, so put a dab of solder in if you suspect the terminal may not hold. For that reason, I like to use the non insulated versions, solder and cover with my own shrink tubing after Im sure the termination is solid. FWIW, the only closed barrel terminal I use in harness building is for the starter solenoid because I simply cannot find an open barrel version. Mouser carries 8 and 10mm rings from delphi to match the OEM ground and power distribution and crimp nicely with any 630 capable tool
