2013 Turbo Beetle 5.3/t56 swap
Hey guys, first time poster here (VERY long time lurker here)
While the title itself may scratch a few heads, this is something I've been planning to do to my daily driver for awhile now.
I've had my fun with the car with it being upgraded to a stage 2 tune, sprayed, FBO, all that other good stuff but it's time I go a different route. It's not all about performance moreso than having something nobody else has.
Before anybody gets too excited, I'm still making a spreadsheet of everything I need before I start the build. I realize that with this build, everything needs to be carefully measured/cut/welded as well as needing a completely new and tube chassis frame, new rearend and drive train to make this come out as clean as possible. (if anybody would like me to post said spreadsheet of everything needed for the build, let me know!)
Having helped out a few friends with their LS-swaps I'm not entirely new to the problems I may face with this project but I'm prepared for anything.
Goal is to have a perfectly streetable, everyday car just like my GTO. Possibly a cam only mod in the future if everything goes by well.
Any input on the matter is greatly appreciated.
The car in question is posted in the attachment below

Rear will be a Ford 8.8", IRS and upgraded axles. flooring, trans tunnel, and firewall will be all aluminum and will be covered with the original VW OEM interior bits like seats, dash, center console, etc. Going for a sleeper look with this one.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to this build!
Haha yes, it won't be your average, ordinary modern bug you see.
Thanks for the encouragement bud
OT: Now as far as the chassis is concerned, I've considered some options and originally thought an S10 styled chassis, just shortened and widened to accommodate the specs of the body of the car. (note: the newer Gen 3 Beetles are much wider and longer than previous models).
However, since this is still a fairly newer car, I wouldn't want to put that on something older and already worn out.
Any ideas on modern frame cars that are still cheap to get or should I fork out the extra $$$ go custom tube chassis?
