1956 Chevy LQ4 swap - 20 days 'til power tour
Nervous about getting done - but wanted to share my progress to date.
Thanks to this site for making some of my decisions easier!
I have:
- 317 heads shaved .040
- LS6 Cam
- Smoothed Truck intake with stock rails and regulator
- Lssimple bracket and water pump
- BP Automotive harness...
Hoping to hear it run this weekend...
Anyways - just sharing!

I agree that intake looks fantastic. Dedication to make one look that slick.
Good luck on buttoning it up. I plan on doing 3 legs of tour...unfortunately for me not in my LS powered vehicle
Do you have any more entire vehicle pics?

How did you do that shave? What was the process? It looks killer! Also, im pretty sure you need to wrap your belt around that idler pulley before it goes around the power steering pump

Thanks!
THANKS!!!
Sorry guys - spent the entire weekend jamming on the car...
Here are some pictures of the car in its original configuration (509 BBC/TH 400) and some pictures of the work I got done this weekend...
The intake manifold was modified by using Walmart .88cent spatulas, a soldering iron, bumper filler and paint... Lots of work, but I love the way it turned out - and I have $56.66 in it(already had the paint)
And yes, the new, longer, belt fits much better!

Hey Joe looks great , you have plenty of time and you can work out the bugs on the road . I have limped through a few tours but always made it home . There is plenty of help on the way from the sponsors and the participants, where are you located ? we will be going across on I- 80 from N.Y. on Friday the 5th. JOHN
