Default Advice! Fuel tank for LS1 in 70 el camino

Hey, need some advice on the best and most cost friendly way for a fuel tank and pump for my LS1 in a 1970 el camino. I junked my stock tank due to a leak so im open to use an after market tank, adapt a newer tank with an in-tank fuel pump, or buy another stock tank and adapt that. I know about Rock Valley tanks but they are WAY! to expensive. Anyone who has done this or can give me some solid advice, that would be great.
Thank you.

I used a tank and pump from http://www.TanksInc.com/ They did not have a tank for my specific application, but I was able to find one that worked by meassuring the space I had and looking where the fuel inlets were. Their prices are in the $200 range and the pumps about the same and tanks are all baffled for fuel injection applications as well.

They also sell pump kits that can be adapted to other tanks.

Rock Valley can mod a stock one for you. You save some money by not having
a custom one made from scratch. The only difference is the stock one
doen't have the baffles. Same pump.

I'm getting just getting started on the same project! How far are you into the swap, and, what mount kit did you use? Auto or man transmission? Also, have you done anything to the suspension yet? I've been looking at the fatman fab gear, but want to do the engine first so I can see what ground clearance I've got...

I am looking at the same swap on my 67. The LS1 goes to the machine shop tomorrow woohooo! You may want to do a little more research on your spindles before you go the Fatman route. His spindles work great on the 1st gen Camaros but roughly double the bumpsteer on chevelles. Yikes! Look into Marcus at SC&C's stuff or some guys are putting together the ultimate set up using some coleman dirt track type spindles. Check this thread at a chevelle site http://www.chevelles.com/forums/show...ferrerid=23562
definitely some good reading.

Can you use the Caprice fuel pump as well, or is it not sufficient for an LS1?
